Technically, This is referred to as a Tee Pee Burner. Used for burning sawdust and mill residue. Virtually every sawmill had one. Slim the Forester. Openings cut in the sides help create a circular air flow increasing fire intensity The top would have had a screen to contain embers. Sawmill wood waster is now considered a resource for every thing from landscape products to hog fuel.
